Scripture: My son, observe the commandment of your father And do not forsake the teaching of your mother; Bind them continually on your heart; Tie them around your neck. When you walk about, they will guide you; When you sleep, they will watchover you; And when you awake, they will talk to you. -Proverbs 6:20-22

Proverbs 6:20-22 emphasizes the importance of wisdom, instruction, and guidance in our lives. The passage encourages us to hold tightly to the teachings of our parents and the insights gained from the experiences of those who care for us.

It reminds us that these teachings are not mere suggestions; they are life-giving principles that can steer us away from harm and lead us toward righteousness.

In this fast-paced world, it’s easy to lose sight of the wisdom passed down through generations. We often prioritize our ambitions, desires, and distractions over the values instilled in us.

However, these verses invites us to pause and reflect on the treasures of wisdom and guidance available to us. They serve as a reminder that when we embrace the teachings of our upbringing, we carry a beacon of light into the darkness of confusion and temptation.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for the wisdom and guidance You have placed in my life through Your word and the people You’ve put around me.
